Disclaimer: These are only the services I've used before. There are a lot more services out there.
So you wanna host your site online? And you may want a custom domain? You scoundrel! Well, most likely you're going to want to edit your site locally, meaning you're going to want to use GitHub or GitLab (there are others ones as well). I'm not gonna tell you how to do that part. There are a lot of tutorials online.

Domain Registrars
- Porkbun (This is the one I use for all of mine) Pros:
- Cheaper than other options
- Reliable
- Free email forwarding
- None that I can think of
- Google Domains Pros:
- Reliable
- Free email forwarding
- It's Google
- Freenom Pros:
- Can use a custom domain for free.
- A lot. TL;DR:
- Unsafe and unreliable
- Your domains can be taken away at anytime for any reason. (free plan)
- They had their ICANN registrar accreditation suspended in 2015 for cybersquatting.
- Bad customer service
Google Domains was bought by Squarespace Domains. Another service Google killed.
Also... Don't use GoDaddy!
Okay, so I have not personally used GoDaddy before, but all I hear about them is bad story after bad story after bad story of people having issues with GoDaddy. But don't take my word for it, take theirs (alternative frontend link).
Don't use it for your domain or hosting. Just don't do it. There are so many better options.
And... Avoid EIG / Newfold Digital brands!
That includes HostGator, BlueHost, and Domain.com. Just don't do it. There are better options.
